October Goals

It’s the end of another month, time to look ahead to October. If you’ve been paying attention, I like lists and crossing them off.  I maybe like lists too much, but that’s a topic for later discussion.  To that end, I’ve decided to try a new regular feature, Monthly Goals. I want to set two to three mini-projects to tackle, such as prioritizing a book that never quite makes it to the top of my reading queue. Feel free to post your own monthly goals in the comments!

Without further ado, my goals for October are:

  • Read THE RUIN OF KINGS by Jenn Lyons
I’ve had the ARC of this tome since SDCC, and it’s been a high priority, but I keep putting it off while I read some other things I picked up at SDCC. But it’s finally time, dear readers, and RUIN OF KINGS should be my next read.  This fantasy novel is being touted as standing alongside the works of Brandon Sanderson, so hopes are high I’m in for engrossing read.
  • Finish a book series
I have a continual problem of starting series and taking forever to finish them, in part because there are so many OTHER series I want to start.  I currently have just one book to go in three different series, so it’s high time I just pick one close that chapter.
  • Finish watching COWBOY BEBOB
I’ve been making steady progress through this classic anime for the last few months, taking my time in part because I’m enjoying the ride, and in part because I’m watching the subtitled version and need to be in the right headspace to give the show its proper attention.  But with only four episodes left, I really have no excuse not to finish!

What about the rest of you?  Books you want to read?  Want to simply start doing something regularly?  Post in the comments!
