WWW Wednesday – 11/21/18

Hey guys!  Time for a weekly update on what I’m reading. This meme is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. To participate, simply answer the following three questions (and please tag the host site!).

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading: FOUR DEAD QUEENS by Astrid Scholte
This was an ARC I picked up at SDCC.  I’m about halfway through and sadly this one is a bit middling for me, as I’m not loving the setting of four neighboring kingdoms where each is bound to a stereotype (one develops tech, but forbids emotion so that logic can prevail).  I’ll give you my quick thoughts next week after I finish, but my full review will go up early next year.

Recently Finished: SKYWARD by Brandon Sanderson and GIRLS OF PAPER AND FIRE by Natasha Ngan
I absolutely loved SKYWARD, if you couldn’t tell from my glowing review on Monday. I was able to finish GIRLS OF PAPER AND FIRE over the weekend and I enjoyed it a lot, though maybe not with as much enthusiasm as the rest of the Internet. Still gave it a solid four stars on Goodread! My review for that should be up shortly after this post goes live.

Probable Next Reads: BINTI by Nnedi Okorafor and BEYOND THE EMPIRE by K.B. Wagers
BINTI just became available to read through the digital library system, and I suspect I’ll tear through this novella in a day.  For my next full read, I’m bouncing out of YA and into sci-fi to conclude THE INDRANAN WAR trilogy, featuring my favorite space-smuggler-turned-empress Hail Bristol!
