Currently Reading: WILD COUNTRY by Anne Bishop
My dream of getting this ARC finished before the end of the month will probably go unrealized, but I’ll make a good go at it!  I’m about 25% in and as suspected, this latest entry in the OTHERS is going to be more of the same, which means I’m in for a perfectly lovely if predictable outing.  There’s still plenty of room in this book for something to surprise me, but the familiar tropes appear to be back.  I’m still very much enjoying the tale, but I’m finding these books are better read over time instead of back to back.  It’s like a favorite blanket you pull out every once in a while to get all cozy with.

Recently Finished Reading: THE BIRD KING by G. Willow Wilson
I finished this ARC over the weekend and found it a pleasant, but not overly exciting read.  This is definitely a more character-driven read than a thrilling adventure (though it does have its exciting moments) and just wasn’t the right cup of tea for me.  This will probably come in at a 3.5 for me – it is by no means a bad book, just didn’t resonate with me!

Probable Next Read: DESCENDENT OF THE CRANE by Joan He
This will be my last ARC read for a bit as I dive into a month that’s going to be more backlist focused as I take part in the #Hamilthon Reading Challenge.  This is a book that has gotten a LOT of hype in the Twitter-sphere, so I’m approaching with caution and hoping this Asian-inspired fantasy tale doesn’t let me down!
