I was a VERY good girl this month and restricted myself to only buying one new book. Only a few new eARCs hauled this month, but given the insanity I brought upon myself in the form of way too many March release ARCs, I’m glad of the break. I have plenty of backlist books from my end of year book hauls that I want to get to, so a small haul of new reads is just the ticket!

Bought/Swapped
SNOWSPELLED by Stephanie Burgis
I’ve seen a few people gushing about this series, including over at Way Too Fantasy so when it popped up on sale for Kindle I decided to snatch it up! I enjoy regency fantasies, so I’m hoping for a nice fluffy read in my future!
SKY IN THE DEEP by Adrienne Young
Just under the wire to qualify for the February haul (and my only physical addition this month), I did a Twitter book swap to get my hands on this absolutely gorgeous copy of SKY IN THE DEEP. I’ve seen this book pop up on a couple different blogs recently and finally decided I needed to check it out for myself. It tells the tale of a Viking teen warrior who must unite the clans against an enemy that was thought to be a myth.
Freebie
WITCHMARK by C. L. Polk
This novella was the Tor.com E-Book Club giveaway for February. It hasn’t been high on my TBR list, but I’ve heard many good things about this romantic fantasy, so I’ll try to squeeze it in at some point down the line!

THE PERFECT ASSASSIN by K.A. Doore
I’ve been curious about this book for a while, so when it popped up in the “Read Now” section of NetGalley, I immediately snatched it up. A murder-mystery where a novice assassin finds himself racing to find who has begun killing the elite of the city, before he himself becomes the next target.
THE STORM CROW by Kalyn Josephson
A rare approval from Edelweiss! This fantasy imagines a tropical kingdom where magical crows a part of every day life, until an invading empire destroys them all. When Princess Thia finds one last unhatched egg in a pile of rubble, she devises a plan with her sister to take back the kingdom, with the help of this last surviving creature.
AN ILLUSION OF THIEVES by Cate Glass
I’m very excited about this one! In a world where using magic merits the death sentence, a courtesan finds herself banished from high society in exchange for the sparing of her magical brother’s life. Living in the Beggar’s Ring, she discovers a plot to incite civil war in the kingdom, and must rely on the help of her thief brother, a swordsmaster, and a silversmith to thwart the plot.
I really hope.you enjoy Snowspelled, it’s such a fun book. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Cate Glass book! I really wanted to request that one but I’m still on my request hiatus at the moment (once I get through one more eARC I’ll be good to go though, huzzah!)

If I don’t sneak Snowspelled in sooner, it’s already got a spot on my May fantasy list for Wyrd and Wonder!

Your 3 eARCs are books I’m very curious about! I’m especially on the fence about The Perfect Assassin. It sounds really good, with the mystery and all, but I’ve been hearing mixed things.

Hoping to check out Assassin this month or next, I’ll report back! Crossing my fingers on An Illusion of Thieves, it sounds like it has potential…
