Currently Reading: GIDEON THE NINTH by Tamsyn Muir
I’m in the middle of a buddy read of GIDEON THE NINTH with a few bloggers, and I’ve made decent progress while I’ve been reading some other books.  I’ve been using the early half of this week to finish the week one section and get a jump on week two, as I’ll be a bit distracted this coming weekend (see below!).  Still wrapping my head around this one, it is certainly out there, and I’m waiting to see how all the pieces come together to make my final judgement!

Recently Finished: THE RAGE OF DRAGONS by Evan Winter and SERPENT & DOVE by Shelby Mahurin
I did not expect to have TWO books completed by this update, but here we are!  THE RAGE OF DRAGONS was a bit of a mixed bag, it was fairly well written with some problems, including a sometimes frustrating protagonist.  Full review is already up! But more than making up for the middling read was SERPENT & DOVE, an absolutely captivating YA fantasy romance that is a strong contender to crack my top five 2019 books.  Look for my review later this week!

Probable Next Read: THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR by Katharine McGee or GREY SISTER by Mark Lawrence
I know, you might be asking where JADE WAR is.  I’m delaying that read ever so slightly because I’m going to the D23 Expo this weekend, aka the giant Disney Convention held every two years in Anaheim. Unlike Comic Con, where I’m mostly roaming the floor, I expect to be spending a lot of time in line for panels, so I’m packing some reading material!  As much as I want get to JADE WAR, that book is massive and a hardcover and I don’t relish the thought of toting it around all day.  I’ve narrowed my options down to two books. The first would be a reread of THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR so I can FINALLY read the whole trilogy.  GREY SISTER is the other option considering, as I have a nice, convenient-sized mass market paperback copy, but it’s also something I’d like to read when there’s a little less chaos happening.  We’ll see where my mood takes me!

What is everyone else reading this week?
