Currently Reading: THE SHADOW OF THE GODS by John Gwynne
It’s just a whole bunch of firsts for me lately! A few weeks ago it was my first Joe Abercrombie, now it’s my first John Gwynne! As of writing this on Tuesday, I haven’t cracked my book open quite yet, but I’m looking forward to dragons and warriors and other epic fantasy tropes. Fingers crossed I enjoy it!
Recently Finished: THE LAST WATCH by J.S. Dewes
WOW, I ended up really loving this one. The tale of a crew of military misfits stuck at a backwater post at the literal edge of the galaxy who realize that same edge is collapsing was quite a thrill ride. It felt like a big budget, over-the-top space disaster movie, and I mean that with all love and respect. Full review to come next week, but this is a definite recommend to pick up if you’re looking for space adventure that’s low on space politics and high on “Oh God, Oh God, we’re all gonna die.”
Probable Next Read: THE GALAXY, AND THE GROUND WITHIN by Becky Chambers
After trying some new authors, it’s back to comfort food with the last book of the WAYFARERS series. All of the previous books have been a little bit different from each other, but they’re also just nice warm fuzzy reads, which will certainly be a change from my action-packed reading pile of late. After that, I’ll probably sneak in a backlist read before returning to the ARC pile, but what this I have yet to choose!
Have a great week of reading!

The Last Watch seems intriguing, and quite a lot at that!! And I have never read anything by Gwynne but I hope to do it soon!! 🤞
