Currently Reading: THE THIEF WHO WENT TO WAR by Michael McClung
2/3 of the way through the (currently) last book in the AMRA THETYS series! Should have this finished later today, as I only have a quick 50 or 60 pages left. Amra is currently trying to bait a mad goddess out of hiding by running around and kicking every hornet’s nest in the city, so you know, business as usual for the thief. More thoughts coming next week, but so far another great outing!
Recently Finished Reading: QUEENSLAYER by Sebastien de Castell
My review for book five of the SPELLSLINGER series is up (and you can read it here) but suffice to say this was a bit of a weird review to write. QUEENSLAYER started out very strong, but I ended a bit lukewarm on it for various reasons. I’m hoping to read the final book in the series in July, and it’s going to be interesting to see where I land on overall impressions of the series.
Probable Next Read: SIX CRIMSON CRANES by Elizabeth Lim
Next up, I’m reading my second(!!) YA book of the year! Seriously, it feels strange to realize that I basically haven’t read any of a genre that has been a staple of my reading life for a while, but it just hasn’t been in the cards lately. SIX CRIMSON CRANES is a new duology set in the same universe as SPIN THE DAWN, and I’m really looking forward to it! After that, I’m going to be doing a bit of mood-reading as I’m going on a road trip vacation with some (vaccinated) family members, and since I’m not in charge of the driving, I’m going to have a good eight hours on my hands with little else to do! I’m definitely going to try and read the new Star Wars Thrawn book, CHAOS RISING, as I haven’t started this prequel trilogy and the final book releases in the fall! After that, we’ll see where my mood takes me – I’m packing a few different options (plus 80ish books on my Kindle), but I’m not sure what I’ll end up reading!
