Hall of Bones  Among Thieves  A Spindle Splintered

Currently Reading: HALL OF BONES by Tim Hardie
It’s September, which means it’s Self-Published Fantasy Month! A wonderful team of people hosts this celebration to celebrate all the amazing self-published fantasy books in the world, and so my timing couldn’t be better to start HALL OF BONES! This is a Viking-inspired fantasy, and definitely a slow-build, but I’m quite enjoying it so far! I’m only 15% in, and haven’t encountered the magic elements of this world yet, but the author’s doing a great job in getting me invested in the clan and the family leading it. Things are already starting to slide sideways, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Recently Finished: AMONG THIEVES by M. J. Kuhn
This was a nice fun popcorn read that’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of the fantasy thief genre. Take a handful of various misfits with a special set of skills, add a contract to steal a mysterious artifact from the most powerful man in the kingdom, and mix well with every crew member having a reason to betray the gang and keep the artifact for themselves, and you have AMONG THIEVES. It favors plot a bit more than characters, but it keeps you on your toes and I enjoyed my time in the kingdom of Thamorr!

Probable Next Read: A SPINDLE SPLINTERED by Alix E. Harrow
After a few lengthy epic books, I’m going to change things up with a novella! A SPINDLE SPLINTERED is a spin on the SLEEPING BEAUTY mythology, and I don’t know much more about it than that. I’m a little sad I’m reading an eARC, as the final copy looks like it has some GORGEOUS illustrations on the pages. Combined with that stunning cover, and I may have to pick up a hard copy for my shelves if A SPINLDE SPLINTERED turns out to be a worthy read.

What are you reading this week? Are you participating in Self-Published Fantasy Month?
