Empire of the Vampire  The Bronzed Beasts  Thornbound

Currently Reading: EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE by Jay Kristoff
As of writing this post Tuesday morning, I’ve not yet cracked open this massive book, but I plan too later this evening! The latest entry from Kristoff is set in a world where the sun has not risen in nearly three decades, and vampires have slowly destroyed humanity. Seems like a perfect October read to me! This massive 700+ page book will likely take me into next week, but we’ll see if I end up tearing through it faster than anticipated.

Recently Finished: THE BRONZED BEASTS by Roshani Chokshi
I closed out the trilogy started by THE GILDED WOLVES! I found the last book perfectly fine, not quite hitting the emotional heights of previous book, THE SILVERED SERPENTS. A full review is to come, but once again, the characters were the main reason I enjoyed the book. The individual heists and puzzles were fun, but the overall plot felt a bit lacking. I’m still glad I finished the series though, even if I’m wrestling with how I feel about the final installment!

Probable Next Read: THORNBOUND by Stephanie Burgis
My next read is definitely going to be determined by how I feel after EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE, but I suspect I’ll need something short and light after getting through what will likely be a brutal read from Kristoff. Seems like the right time to return to the HARWOOD SPELLBOOK series then! I reread the first novella in the series, SNOWSPELLED last month, and am looking forward to more regency fantasy romance in my future!
