The Thief Who Pulled On Trouble's Braids  Harrow the Ninth  The Nemesis

An Unnatural Life  The Sword of Kaigen

Currently Reading: HARROW THE NINTH by Tamsyn Muir and THE THIEF WHO PULLED ON TROUBLE’S BRAIDS by Michael McClung
I’m doing something rare and reading two books at once! I’m joining in on the readalong for THE THIEF WHO PULLED ON TROUBLE’S BRAIDS for Self-Published Fantasy Month. I’m trying to be good and not just devour it, but my will power might not hold out too long…Meanwhile, I’m reading my ARC of HARROW THE NINTH, which I’m incredibly behind on reviewing (whoops). But once I’m done with this, I’ll be caught up on August! Thus far HARROW is as out there as GIDEON THE NINTH was, but I have a slightly better understanding of what’s going on, even I don’t yet know the bigger picture. We’ll see how it lands!

Recently Finished: THE NEMESIS by S.J. Kincaid and AN UNNATURAL LIFE by Erin K. Wagner
Look at that, two whole books finished! THE NEMESIS was a fun read, not quite as intense as the previous books in THE DIABOLIC TRILOGY, but it’s great to have that series checked off my list. After that I popped over to my ARC of AN UNNATURAL LIFE, a quick novella that was a little more contemplative than I was hoping, but still a good read. I’ve already posted my review for this one, so you can check it out!

Probable Next Read: THE SWORD OF KAIGEN by M.L. Wang
I made one promise to myself for Self-Published Fantasy Month, and that was that I would finally, FINALLY read THE SWORD OF KAIGEN. I bought this one a year and a half ago after some glowing recs, and it has been on several “I’m going to read this book,” lists in the last several months. No more lies! If only read one self-pub book this month, it’s going to be this one.

And that’s what’s on my plate this week! What are you reading?

      1. I was a bit iffy for the first half tbh, it never really grabbed me. It’s picked up now though and there’s some sparks flying about so hope it stays strong til the end.

  2. Brilliant list! The thief who pulled on troubles braids looked so interesting, I think I might buy it – thanks for that! I recently finished Harrow the ninth – Honestly I preferred Harrow to Gideon in the first book and I was really interested to hear her side of the story. Would definitely recommend and I hope you enjoy. Here’s my review: 🙂 https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2020/09/11/harrow-the-ninth-to-read-in-the-event-of-your-imminent-obsession/
